The Journeys to and from the Book Button
Relavanti's unique value proposition can be described as a search platform enabling holistic relevance in the planning and exploring stages of travel. This means that, during the search process, we try to answer two questions everyone asks:
1. How are all the trip elements relevant to each other?
2. How is it all relevant to me (personal preferences and requirements)?
The holistic relevance is even applied when it comes to advertising on Relavanti, allowing for ads to be pinpointed to the traveler's needs or interests at a specific time and place.
Yet the business model of holistic relevance enablement was difficult to explain to potential investors, partners and customers. Although everyone understands the concept, the question is, how can it be applied as a helpful product and how can it be profitable? At some point, I realized that holistic relevance is our secret sauce, not the final product. Describing Relavanti as a startup specializing in holistic relevance would be akin to Henry Ford describing his product as "moving engines" rather than "cars".
Enter the journeys to and from the "Book Button". It much more clearly defines what Relavanti does.
The journey to the book button (JTB):
This is the journey travelers and travel agents take while searching for services to book. Relavanti's unique capabilities can be used on the website (B2C), as search tool for travel agents (B2B) and as an add-on to other websites, enabling them to offer a more robust search function (B2B2C).
Examples of the Journey to the Book Button (JTB):
JTB B2C: Searching Relavanti for services around specific locations (up to 4 locations at a time). Future plans include the ability to connect between the locations by flight, car, ferry or public transportation.
JTB B2B: Relavanti can be licensed to travel agencies as a customized white label search platform, designed to increase both efficiency and revenue opportunities. The white label platform can also be customized to highlight an agency's (or consortium's) preferred suppliers for quick reference, as well as allowing agents and their agencies to share local knowledge down to the level of specific locations, such as a cruise terminal. One of the planned developments for the agency search tool is to allow the client (traveler) to share a Relavanti search with a travel agent. The agent can then see the trip planned by the client, including highlighted preferred suppliers.
JTB B2B2C: Consider the search for cruises currently available online. If you look at all the search parameters (ports, dates, cruise line, etc.) you will note they are all based on data received from the cruise API. But what happens to data from outside the API? Can it be included as part of the search parameters? This is where Relavanti's JTB B2B2C add-on can greatly enhance any cruise booking website, by enabling a search for cruises (or any travel service) that goes far beyond the usual API data.
The journey from the book button (JFB):
This is the journey travelers and travel agents take after a service has been booked or with a specific service becoming an "anchor" for planning travel around it. The FTB function also refers to our Events, whereby a wedding, class reunion or short-term rental can be used as the "anchor" to plan travel. Here, too, Relavanti offers our unique search to our website users (B2C), as search tool for travel agents (B2B) and as an add-on to other websites (B2B2C).
Examples of the Journey from the Book Button (JFB):
JFB B2C: Searching Relavanti for services around specific services booked, such as a cruise or flight. Instantly find services around the airports and seaports, including hotels, transportation, activities and more. This also applies to our Events function, whereby in a matter of 2-3 minutes the user can create a trip-planning website around a specific event or short-term rental and enjoy a share in the commission.
JFB B2B: Having booked a specific service such a cruise or flight, travel agents can use Relavanti's white label search tool to search for services around it, with greater efficiency and revenue opportunities. The travel agent white label platform can also be customized to highlight an agency's (or consortium's) preferred suppliers for quick reference, as well as allowing agents and their agencies to share local knowledge.
JFB B2B2C: Websites that specialize in travel services (hotels, cruises, etc.) can use Relavanti's JFB search capabilities to offer their clients an opportunity to plan travel around a confirmed service, while enjoying a share of the commissions earned.
